MAN DETAINED IN OGUN STATE FOR RAPING A WOMAN WITH DOWN SYNDROME

The Ogun State Police Command detained a guy named Kunle Abati, 29, for allegedly forcing carnal knowledge of a 27-year-old woman with Down syndrome.

The victim’s mother filed a report at the Ilese Ijebu divisional headquarters on December 7, 2022, stating that she took her daughter on an errand at around 7:30 am, but when she got back, she saw a bl@@d stain on her cloth. This led to the arrest of the defendant, Kunle Abati.

She added that she took her daughter to the suspect’s home and indicated that the suspect had carnal knowledge of her when she questioned her daughter about the blood on her cloth.

Following the report, CSP Paul Omiwole, the DPO for Ilese Ijebu, instructed his investigators to track down the culprit, who was then detained.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime and said that he also took advantage of the woman’s health issues to rip her off.
