MAN IN KANO DETAINED FOR KILLING HIS PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND WHO WAS TWO MONTHS PREGNANT.

The police in Kano State have detained a 20-year-old man named Philibus Ibrahim for allegedly killing his pregnant girlfriend Theresa Yakubu in the Tudun Wada LGA.

On March 28, 2023, the suspect and his 25-year-old best friend Gabriel Bila were both taken into custody.

On March 28 at around 16:30, a report was received that a woman was spotted resting on the ground motionless by the roadside at Anadariya Village, Bebeji LGA along Kano-Jos Road, Kano State, according to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on April 4.

Theresa Yakubu, 20 years old, was identified as the dead after preliminary examination.

During an investigation, Philibus admitted to having gotten his girlfriend pregnant two months prior, and all attempts to get the pregnancy terminated had failed. After that, he and his companion plotted to kill her by strangling her with her head tie while the friend held her hands in a bush.
