Following a “mass altercation” between their players during the Premier League last weekend, Manchester United and Crystal Palace have been charged, according to the Football Association.
The incident occurred in the 67th minute of the game on February 4 that United won at home 2-1. Casemiro was given a straight red card for grabbing Will Hughes by the throat after a tackle on Antony led to a confrontation between the two teams.
The FA stated in a statement on Thursday that “it is alleged both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly manner and/or refrained from provocative behavior.”
It said, “Manchester United is also accused to have failed to ensure that its players abstained from violent behavior.”
The clubs have until February 13 to answer the allegations.
