Babatunji Wusu –
Prominent statesman and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has disclosed that he felt uneasy about numerous economic initiatives implemented by the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
He claimed he always spoke his mind to the government, but since he was a member of the same administration, he was unable to publicly express his opinions.
Former President Buhari ought to have stopped the fuel subsidy in 2015, according to Akande, who also said that if Buhari had done so while he was in office, Nigerians would have become used to it by now.
He said that they had talked about how the fuel subsidy removal concerns would be handled before Buhari was sworn in as president, but that Buhari started to back off on parts of their conversations after taking office.
In an interview with Channels Television, he made this claim.
Despite his flaws, former President Buhari is an honest man who cared about Nigeria and wanted the best for her, according to Akande.
The former national chairman of the APC continued by saying that Buhari’s administration’s results could have been impacted by the caliber of the advice he got while in office.
