Lionel Messi drew level with Brazilian great Pele for career free-kick goals after netting in Major League Soccer on Sunday.
The Argentine star converted a free-kick in second-half stoppage time to seal a 4-2 victory for Inter Miami CF against Orlando City SC in Florida. Messi’s strike curled into the bottom-left corner, marking his 70th goal from a direct free-kick.
The milestone places him joint-fourth on the all-time list for most free-kick goals in men’s football.
