Mexico confirmed that Jesus Manuel Corona is out for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar after not being to successfully recover from the injury he suffered in August.

Jesus Manuel Corona has been ruled out of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, according to Mexico, as he was unable to fully recuperate from the injury he sustained in August.

Jesus Corona, a player with La Liga team Sevilla, needed surgery after suffering a shattered fibula and a ruptured ankle ligament.

His development was being closely watched. Mexico coach Gerardo Martino confirmed on Tuesday that the player has not been able to finish his recovery on time, forcing him to miss the quadrennial tournament in Qatar that starts on November 20. However, with the November 13 deadline for squad announcement quickly approaching, the player’s inability to do so has been confirmed.
