The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the NBA’s regular season has been renamed after Michael Jordan, who is widely recognized as one of the best players of all time.
One of six renamed trophies, the bronze Michael Jordan Trophy, was unveiled by the NBA on Tuesday. It portrays a player emerging from a rock to grab for a crystal basketball with 23 points, a tribute to Jordan’s jersey number.
The six-sided nameplate of the trophy pays tribute to the six NBA titles that Michael Jordan won with the Chicago Bulls, while the five-sided base honors the five league Most Valuable Player honors he received throughout the course of his Hall of Fame career.
Following Yahaya’s advancements, Danjuma assured the governor that he would receive overwhelming support from local government, “cutting across road construction, the recent recruitment of teachers by the State Teachers Commission in which Balanga Local Government came second in the list of those that benefited in the number of teachers newly recruited in the state.”
Yahaya urged residents in some of the wards he visited to obtain their PVCs “so as to support the APC in all levels of governments in the approaching election,” noting that doing so would allow him to build on the accomplishments made during his first term in office in Gombe State.
He asked residents of the state to support the APC in large numbers at all levels of government.
A legendary namesake for the pinnacle of basketball performance.
