Iorliam Emmanuel, a soldier from Nigeria, was detained for stealing and selling weapons to Boko Haram insurgents.

In a widely shared video, Emmanuel, who was allegedly assigned to the 156 Task Force Battalion in Mainok, Borno state, during “Operation Hadin Kai,” was reportedly disarmed, searched, and discovered to be carrying ammunition.

The ammunition was taken out of a piece of clothing that was wrapped around his waist and covered in various charms while it was captured on camera. “God pass you, 99 days for the thief; so, you’ll go and give Boko Haram to come and attack us?” his coworkers could be heard saying.
