Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum, conducted an on-site inspection of fuel stations in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Saturday to monitor the availability of petroleum products.
Upon arriving at the Bayelsa State International Airport in Amassoma at 11:30 a.m., Lokpobiri visited the Rain Oil Filling Station in Etegwe, joined by officials from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). His inspection continued at the NNPC affiliate station in Etegwe, Rano Oil at Opolo, and the NNPC mega station at Berger Junction.
At each station, the minister instructed pump attendants to dispense fuel in order to verify the actual volume being sold. Lokpobiri stated that the visit was aimed at ensuring product availability and protecting consumers from exploitation. He emphasized that since President Bola Tinubu’s administration began, fuel scarcity linked to price hikes during the festive season has been mitigated.
