Power Minister Adebayo Adelabu reassured that President Bola Tinubu has no plan to discriminate against any region following the recent northern power outage, which he described as “worrisome and unfortunate.” Speaking in Kano on Thursday during a meeting with state officials to explore ways to boost power supply, Adelabu stated, “The situation is unfortunate and not something we want to see repeated. If it does, we need a lasting solution.”
Adelabu explained that his team’s working visit to Kano aimed to inspect infrastructure and discuss improvements with the state government. He also encouraged Kano to collaborate with the Ministry on power generation, as the recent decentralization allows ten states to manage their own power needs—a step Kano has yet to take advantage of.
