Missing businesswoman discovered; murdered by ‘one-chance’ robbers in Lagos

Mrs. Rosemary Obidinma, a resident of Ibafo in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, was reported missing but has since passed away.

On November 2, the mother of five left her shop in Apapa, Lagos, without coming back.

Daniel, her son, reportedly spoke to her the last about 10 p.m.

A man answered the phone when Daniel and his siblings called and told them to stop bothering him because he was in Delta State.

The Divisional Police Officer at Ketu Police Station, where a report had been made earlier, had called Daniel and his uncle, Emmanuel Iffi, on Friday to come and identify the corpse of a victim of a one-chance robbery, according to Daniel, who spoke with our correspondent on Sunday.

In Lagos, a practice known as “one-chance” is common, where commuters are robbed by hoodlums driving commercial cars that are typically occupied by their gang members who pose as passengers.

The instant he gave us the picture of the corpse, Daniel remarked, “He (DPO) said the police had been attempting to find the family members of the corpse without luck. It was my mother.

According to the authorities, she was fatally stabbed by chance robbers and bled to death.

“We will bring the remains to our village for burial by Tuesday this week even though her body is still at a morgue.”

As of the time this story was filed, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police spokesperson, had not yet responded to the development.
