Tunji Wusu –

Victor Uwajeh, the Chief Investigator of Global Private Investigators Limited, a company with offices in the UK, has demanded a full investigation into the controversy surrounding the student with the highest UTME score in 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, Uwajeh, a famous international investigator, pleaded with the Federal Government to conduct an impartial investigation without consulting the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, or JAMB.

Ejikeme Mmesoma was disqualified from taking the exam for the subsequent three years after JAMB accused her of “manipulating” her exam results on Sunday.

It was asserted that she merely altered a copy of a candidate’s result slip belonging to “Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle,” who took the UTME in 2021 and received a score of 138.

Uwajeh responded to the news by saying that there is more to the drama than first appears, and that JAMB’s handling of the situation left much to be desired.

Uwajeh bemoaned the examining body’s decision to hold a public trial rather than conduct a thorough investigation, subjecting the young child to significant trauma.

Even if Mmesoma falsified her findings, he claimed, the law would still protect her as a kid in this situation.

“It is rather unfortunate that JAMB, the Nigerian board that administers entrance exams for postsecondary institutions, has been reduced to being made fun of,” remarked Uwajeh. Without any evidence, how can you accuse a teen of fraud?

Things of this kind are thoroughly researched in saner climates before becoming public knowledge. But JAMB has chosen to use a media trial instead.

Even if she is guilty of the crime—which is unlikely—the law still protects her somewhat since she is a minor in this situation. In addition to causing the poor girl and her family great embarrassment, JAMB has set a negative example for young people.

The poor kid was also defamed by JAMB, who also failed to uphold its obligation under the Child Rights Act to protect girl children by exposing her to public ridicule and defamation. In every way, this amounts to intimidation and oppression. Unacceptable!

For the benefit of future generations, this suspected forgery case must be urgently investigated. The reported scandals within the exam body over the years cannot be simply disregarded. The moment has come to examine their situation comprehensively.

“I urge a covert investigation of the UTME tests for 2023 on behalf of other well-meaning Nigerians. The Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and other security organizations ought to exert more effort to determine how the malfunction might have occurred. It’s possible that the young Mmesoma won’t be able to shape the outcome. Either another party altered the outcome on her behalf or JAMB compromised.

In order to get to the bottom of the situation, Uwajeh promised to use his knowledge, resources, and cutting-edge technology through Global Private Investigators Limited.
