Babatunji Wusu –

The nurse who attended to singer Mohbad at the hospital before his passing has allegedly been detained by police, according to actress Iyabo Ojo.
After visiting the Lagos State government offices with some team members, she revealed this while providing an update on the ongoing investigation into the singer’s death.

Ojo said that a few additional persons had received requests to report to the police over the situation.

She further pleaded with the #JustForMohbad organization to give the authorities the necessary time to carry out their obligations in determining the facts of Mohbad’s case.

“As long as they’re going to do the autopsy and everything,” she remarked.

“They’ve taken some people in. You know, like I know the nurse was detained.

That’s the only detail I can provide you at this time, you know.

“However, they’ve taken some prisoners. Some people are being urged to turn themselves in. Let’s give that two weeks, then. I kindly ask.

A group of protesters demanding justice for the 27-year-old singer’s death on Wednesday attacked the House of Assembly under the banner of “Justice for MohBad” and were headed by actress Iyabo Ojo.

Ojo had previously said that a large rally would take place on Wednesday from Oba Akran to the Lagos State Executive and Legislative chambers.

Nevertheless, she underlined in a statement on Tuesday night that the ‘peaceful’ demonstration would no longer take place due to “reservations expressed by the law enforcement agents that, it could be hijacked by unscrupulous persons and miscreants, thereby endangering lives and property.”

However, the statement went on to say that some Ojo’s team members would visit particular Lagos state government agencies to “register their concerns and share views for the ultimate goal of timely delivery of justice.”
