Mohbad’s Widow Raises Alarm: ‘My Life and Son’s Are in Danger’

Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has voiced fears for her life and that of her one-year-old son, Liam.

In a heartfelt interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that she has been receiving death threats almost every day.

Omowunmi also accused her late husband’s former boss, Naira Marley, and his associates of attacking her. Additionally, she alleged that her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, is fiercely opposing her, seeking to seize control of Mohbad’s properties.

“We no longer feel safe. I get death threats almost daily in my DMs. It has reached a point where I either speak up or suffer in silence,” she lamented.

She further claimed that Joseph Aloba, who officiated her marriage to Mohbad, has now turned against her, even questioning the paternity of their son.

“He was the happiest when we got married, but now he calls Liam a bastard. He says my son has bow legs, which they don’t have in their family. He even claimed my husband once tried to throw our baby into the Third Mainland Bridge,” she alleged.

Mohbad tragically passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances after parting ways with Marlian Music, a label owned by Naira Marley. His death sparked widespread suspicion, with many pointing fingers at his former label boss and associate, Sam Larry.

A viral video showing Sam Larry assaulting Mohbad before his passing further fueled the controversy. Both Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested and remanded on October 6, 2023, over their alleged involvement but were later granted bail after pleading not guilty.
