Mojisola Meranda, who resigned as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday afternoon, has been re-elected as the Deputy Speaker of the House.

During the plenary session, Meranda formally read out her resignation letter, stating: “This is a notice of resignation as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.” Following her resignation, she accepted the role of Deputy Speaker and pledged to serve Lagos State in good faith.

Meanwhile, lawmakers have nominated Mudashiru Obasa for reinstatement as Speaker, marking another key development in the ongoing leadership reshuffle within the Assembly. Further updates are expected as the House finalizes its decision.
