Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has scrapped his long-held birthday date and announced a new one, in a move that signals a deepening rift with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

In a strongly worded post shared on his X account, the singer renounced November 18 as his birthday, making it clear he would no longer acknowledge celebrations tied to that date.

“I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” he declared.

Mr P went further to establish November 30 as his new official birthday, describing the decision as personal while seeking understanding from fans and well-wishers.

The dramatic shift comes against the backdrop of a long-running and increasingly public feud involving his twin brother and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who once managed the now-defunct music duo P-Square.

Once celebrated as one of Africa’s most successful music acts, P-Square fractured under the weight of disputes over management, finances, and allegations of betrayal.

Although the brothers briefly reunited in 2021, tensions resurfaced with renewed intensity. Peter accused Paul and Jude of marginalisation and financial misconduct, while Paul fired back, alleging that Peter had reported them to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The fallout reached a boiling point in June 2025 when Peter publicly cut ties with his family, declaring a complete break, particularly from his brothers.

His latest move to change his birthday—symbolically distancing himself from a shared identity with his twin—has further fueled speculation that reconciliation may no longer be on the table.
