A Chinese man claims he acted in self-defense when he fatally stabbed Ummulkhulsum Sani Buhari, his 23-year-old Nigerian fiancée, in Kano State.

On January 23, Frank Geng Quangrong advised Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji of the Kano State High Court to have mercy in administering justice because he was not the one who committed the heinous act.

Remember that in September 2022, after a misunderstanding, Quangrong killed Ummulkhulsum? He said that after he had spent N60 million on her and her family, she had broken her vow to marry him.

In his evidence, Quangrong—who is accused of culpable homicide—stated, “I didn’t kill Ummulkhulsum on purpose; instead, I killed her in self-defense after she seized my testes.

In light of what I already mentioned, I want this honorable court to balance mercy and justice in its ruling.
Judge Ado-Ma’aji postponed making a decision until March 29.
