On Friday, Julian Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern Munich was formally announced. Thomas Tuchel, a former coach of Dortmund and Chelsea, will take over at the Bavarians.
Tuchel will start managing team training on Monday and will have a contract that lasts until June 30, 2025.
Assistant coaches Dino Toppmoller, Benjamin Gluck, and Xaver Zembrod have also been fired in addition to Nagelsmann.
In discussions with club president Herbert Hainer, CEO Oliver Kahn and board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic made this choice.
Bayern will face Manchester City in the quarterfinal of the Champions League and is only one point behind league leader Borussia Dortmund before their matchup on April 1.
Nagelsmann moved to Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021, where he spent his first season winning the Bundesliga.
