Aliko Dangote and Abdulsamad Rabiu, two billionaire Nigerian businessmen, reportedly lost a staggering $5.85 billion barely 24 hours after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) floated the Naira.

This is in accordance with the Bloomberg Billionaire Index (BBI), a daily list of the richest people in the world that includes information about the methods used to calculate each billionaire’s net worth on their profile page.

According to information on the portal as of June 15, 2023, the wealth calculations for the businessmen who are ranked among the 500 richest men in the world have changed negatively.

The index showed that Dangote, the chairman and CEO of the Dangote Group, lost roughly $3.12 billion in the most recent revision. Similar claims were made about Rabiu, the CEO of BUA Group, who allegedly lost $2.73 billion of his money.
