South African rapper David Junior Ngcobo, better known as Nasty C, has revealed that he is considering changing his stage name after admitting it carries no real meaning.

Speaking in a candid interview with Madame Joyce in London, the award-winning rapper confessed that the name “Nasty C” was randomly put together and not inspired by any significant moment, contrary to the story he had often told.

He explained that he once claimed his first producer had called him “Nasty Cat,” which he later shortened to Nasty C. However, the rapper admitted the story was fabricated, saying he only wanted to credit the producer who supported him early in his career.

“It’s random. I just put a bunch of letters together and started making words out of it, then I picked that one,” he said. “There’s no meaning behind it. The ‘Nasty Cat’ story was a lie. I just wanted to have a story and to mention that guy’s name because he really did help me at the start. But my stage name is just a vibe. I want to change it now.”

The revelation has sparked conversations among fans who have long associated the “Coolest Kid in Africa” crooner with his popular moniker.
