Renowned gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, will celebrate his 44th birthday behind the prison walls of Kirikiri Medium Security Prison in Lagos.
Bassey announced the plan on his Instagram page, revealing that the celebration will feature a one-day edition of his globally recognized worship movement, the Halleluyah Challenge.
“Tomorrow for my birthday, I praise and celebrate with my brethren in prison,” he wrote, expressing his desire to mark the day with inmates through worship and thanksgiving.
The Halleluyah Challenge, which began in 2017, has grown into one of Africa’s largest online worship gatherings, uniting thousands of believers nightly for an hour of prayer, music, and testimonies. Over the years, it has become a platform for stories of healing, deliverance, and answered prayers.
By bringing the challenge into Kirikiri Prison, Bassey hopes to extend the spirit of worship to those behind bars, turning his birthday into a moment of hope and inspiration.
