Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has reacted to the death of music minister Toluwanisings, who reportedly slumped and died on Wednesday after eight hospitals allegedly rejected him.

Bassey expressed sadness over Toluwanisings’ death in an Instagram post on Friday. He also prayed for comfort for the late singer’s family, friends and loved ones.

The gospel minister said he had never met Toluwanisings personally. However, he had heard about his work in music ministry.

“Always painful to hear and see young people pass at their prime,” Bassey wrote.

He added that Christians believed the deceased was in a better place with God.

Bassey also prayed for strength and comfort for those affected by the loss.

Reports spark reactions over Nigeria’s health system

Reports surrounding Toluwanisings’ death have triggered reactions on social media.

Some users have criticised the government over the state of Nigeria’s healthcare system. Others have linked the incident to what they described as a spiritual attack.

However, the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death and the reports that eight hospitals rejected him have not been independently established in the information available for this report.

Toluwanisings was a music minister whose work had reached Bassey, despite the two men never having met.

Bassey’s message focused on the loss of a young music minister and the grief facing his family and loved ones.

He ended his message with a prayer, saying, “It is well, in Jesus’ name.”
