NBA Results – November 10, 2024
The Boston Celtics mounted a remarkable comeback to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 113-107, overcoming a 17-point deficit. Jayson Tatum was instrumental in the victory, finishing with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Celtics were down by as many as 17 points in the second quarter but fought back, with Payton Pritchard contributing 18 points off the bench, including five 3-pointers. Despite a dominant performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo, who tallied 43 points and 13 rebounds, the Bucks could not hold off the Celtics in the final stretch, falling short by three points.
In a high-scoring affair, the Golden State Warriors held off the Oklahoma City Thunder 127-116. Stephen Curry had a stellar performance, scoring 36 points on 13-of-23 shooting, including seven 3-pointers. The Warriors had a commanding lead at one point but saw the Thunder trim the deficit to just six late in the game. Jonathan Kuminga contributed 20 points, 12 of which came in the second quarter. The Denver Nuggets survived a thrilling finish to beat the Dallas Mavericks 122-120. Nikola Jokic was sensational, recording 37 points, 18 rebounds, and 15 assists. With the game tied in the final moments, Michael Porter Jr. hit a crucial floater with 6.5 seconds left to seal the win. Kyrie Irving had a spectacular performance for Dallas, scoring 43 points on 17-of-22 shooting, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Mavericks from losing their second consecutive game in the final seconds.
In Indianapolis, the Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 132-121 behind a career-high 38 points from Bennedict Mathurin. Tyrese Haliburton added 35 points and 14 assists, including 12 points in the fourth quarter, as the Pacers closed out the game with a barrage of 3-pointers. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 33 points and 10 assists, but his performance wasn’t enough to overcome the Pacers’ late-game surge. The Knicks have now lost three of their last four games.
The Houston Rockets edged the Detroit Pistons 101-99 with a strong performance from Alperen Sengun, who scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tari Eason added 18 points and 9 rebounds off the bench for Houston. Despite a solid effort from Cade Cunningham, who had 26 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds, the Pistons fell short. Isaiah Stewart contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as Detroit lost their fourth straight game.
In Orlando, the Magic cruised to a 121-94 victory over the Washington Wizards. Franz Wagner led Orlando with 23 points, while his brother Moritz Wagner added 16. The Magic had a balanced scoring attack with 11 players contributing to the win, including Cole Anthony, who scored a season-high 16 points off the bench. Washington struggled throughout the game, with rookie Bilal Coulibaly scoring 20 points in a losing effort. The Wizards have now lost four straight games.
The Philadelphia 76ers narrowly defeated the Charlotte Hornets 107-105 in overtime. In a dramatic finish, the Miami Heat defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 95-94. Nikola Jovic scored a go-ahead three-point play with 7.8 seconds left to give the Heat the lead. Tyler Herro finished with a game-high 26 points. Despite a strong effort from Anthony Edwards, who scored 22 points for the Timberwolves, Minnesota lost their three-game winning streak.
The Sacramento Kings won a thrilling overtime game against the Phoenix Suns, 127-118. DeMar DeRozan and De’Aaron Fox combined for all eight of Sacramento’s overtime points, leading the Kings to victory. DeRozan finished with a season-best 34 points. The Suns, playing without Kevin Durant (calf strain), led by Bradley Beal (28 points) and Devin Booker (23 points, 12 assists), saw their seven-game winning streak snapped.
The Los Angeles Lakers earned a 123-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors behind a solid performance from Anthony Davis, who scored 22 points before leaving the game with an eye injury. LeBron James also had a triple-double, finishing with 19 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds. The Raptors were missing key players Scottie Barnes and Kelly Olynyk, and despite Chris Boucher and RJ Barrett contributing 18 points each, Toronto was unable to keep pace with the Lakers.
Finally, the Memphis Grizzlies routed the Portland Trail Blazers 134-89. Jaren Jackson Jr. had a dominant game with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three steals in just 24 minutes. Jake LaRavia and Scotty Pippen Jr. also contributed to the blowout win, scoring 18 and 17 points, respectively. Jerami Grant led Portland with 20 points, but the Blazers were outmatched in every aspect of the game and have now dropped five of their last six contests.
