NDC Primary Election Results announcement meeting in Abuja

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports circulating online about the NDC Primary Election Results, insisting that only the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) can announce the official outcome of its nationwide primaries.

In a statement issued on Sunday, National Publicity Secretary Osa Director Esq. urged Nigerians and party supporters to ignore results being shared across social media platforms following the primaries held on May 28 and 29, 2026.

The party said the NDC Primary Election Results remain in the custody of the NEC and have not yet been formally released.

According to the statement, the NEC will meet in Abuja this week after a directive from the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson. NEC members are expected to arrive in the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday, June 2, for a pre-meeting session, while the main meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 3.

The NDC stressed that only outcomes approved and announced by the NEC should be regarded as authentic.

Furthermore, the party assured members and stakeholders that the final list of candidates for upcoming elections would be made public after internal processes are completed and the names are submitted to INEC.

Meanwhile, reactions have continued online over the delay in releasing the NDC Primary Election Results. Some social media users have claimed that candidates in several contests have already emerged victorious.

One user, Dylan (@grace_speak05), argued that Hon. Utomi Nwanne remained the leading candidate in the Delta North Senatorial primary and called for respect for what he described as the voters’ mandate.

However, the NDC maintained that only results officially released by the NEC should be accepted as genuine, urging the public to await the party’s formal announcement.
