NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Kingpin, Alhaja Aishat Feyisara Ajoke Elediye

• Alhaja Aishat Feyisara Ajoke Elediye, a 61-year-old Nollywood filmmaker and Lagos socialite, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on January 1, 2025.
• She was apprehended after a truck carrying 1,540 kilograms of cannabis, driven by one of her staff, was intercepted by the agency.
• Known as “Iya Ruka” in the drug trade, Elediye has long been on the NDLEA’s wanted list for leading a drug cartel in Lagos.
• The arrest followed a raid on her mansion in the Okota area of Lagos, where the operatives found her involved in a massive illicit drug operation.
• On the surface, Elediye appears to be a legitimate businesswoman, importing fabrics and shoes, but she is deeply involved in the drug trade.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Alhaja Aishat Feyisara Ajoke Elediye, a prominent 61-year-old Nollywood filmmaker and Lagos socialite, following her involvement in a major drug trafficking operation. Known in the criminal world as “Iya Ruka,” she had long evaded arrest despite being a key figure in one of the most notorious drug cartels operating from Mushin, Lagos.

On January 1, 2025, NDLEA operatives intercepted a truck driven by one of her employees, Abideen Adio, which was carrying 44 jumbo sacks containing 1,540 kilograms of imported cannabis. Acting on intelligence, the operatives tracked the truck to her mansion in the Okota area of Lagos, where they arrested Elediye.

Although she publicly presents herself as a businesswoman involved in importing fabrics and shoes from China, investigations have revealed her extensive involvement in the illegal drug trade. She also holds a prestigious social position as the Iyalaje of Blessing Sisters, a well-known club of influential women in Lagos.
