According to the National Examinations Council (NECO), around 1.2 million applicants have enrolled for the ongoing 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
According to a statement issued by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, on Friday while supervising the conduct of the test in some schools, the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, announced this in Jos Plateau State.
According to Wushishi, 601,074 candidates are male, while 584,814 are female.
Based on comments from around the country, he expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the 2023 SSCE.
The 2023 SSCE, which will be finished next week, was the best organized in recent memory, according to the Registrar.
According to Wushishi, several methods have been put in place to check for exam fraud, and they have already begun to show promise.
The registrar who oversaw the exams at the Airforce Military School, King and Queens Academy, and Emmanuel International College, all of which are located in Jos, expressed satisfaction with how well they were administered in these institutions.
Prof. Wushishi had already observed how the 2023 SSCE was conducted in the states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi.
