Tunji Wusu –
The eight MRS Oil Nigeria Plc employees who were abducted last week in Lagos have been liberated, The Nation has learned.
On Sunday night in the Sangotedo region of Lagos State, the victims were freed.
However, it wasn’t apparent if a ransom was paid to secure their release.
On Monday at around 6 p.m., the oil employees were kidnapped while traveling from Lagos Island to Lekki on a private boat.
According to reports, their kidnappers snatched them up in their boat and fled, leaving the oil workers’ boat and their personal items behind.
The release of the oil workers was confirmed to The Nation on Monday morning by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos Police Command.
When asked if any arrests had been made, Hundeyin gave a negative response and declined to comment further.
