Babatunji Wusu –
Kuriga schoolchildren recently freed from kidnapping have been promised free education by Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State.
Remember that last week, the teenagers from Lea Primary School and Government Secondary School Kuriga in Kaduna State’s Chikun Local Government Area were kidnapped?
Three days after being freed from captivity, they were later saved and reunited with their parents.
On behalf of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the children were given to their parents on Wednesday by Professor Abdulkadir Meyere, Secretary to the Kaduna State Government.
After a terrifying two-week ordeal during which they were kidnapped by bandits on March 7th and saved in Zamfara State by the joint efforts of the military and local authorities, the youngsters were finally let free.
Professor Meyere described the state’s unwavering efforts to ensure the children’s safe return during the presentation of the kids to their families.
He described Governor Sani’s extensive participation in the rescue effort, highlighting the governor’s dedication to the wellbeing and security of the kids.
Governor Sani declared in a new statement on Thursday (today) that his organization will provide the released students with free education.
Vanguard claims that the governor further committed to restoring Kuriga’s government secondary school and primary school as well as other essential community facilities.
