The Coalition of Niger Delta Groups on Wednesday held a world press conference in Abuja, announcing a strong vote of confidence in the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh (FNSE), while also endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for a second term in 2027.

Speaking at the briefing, General Prince Omoko commended President Tinubu for appointing Engr. Momoh, describing the minister as a dedicated public servant whose efforts have significantly advanced the Renewed Hope Agenda through infrastructural development, training and empowerment programmes.

Omoko noted that the creation of the Federal Ministry of Regional Development and its mandate to supervise the six geopolitical regional development initiatives of the current administration is a major step toward balanced development across the country.

In a passionate appeal, the Coalition urged the leadership of the 10th National Assembly to urgently increase the budgetary allocation of the ministry, stressing that the scope of its responsibilities requires adequate funding to effectively execute Federal Government projects and deliver visible improvements in living standards.

Also Gen. Joseph Upuam, National PRO of the coalition, further emphasized that despite prevailing challenges, Nigeria remains capable of resolving its internal issues. He encouraged citizens to give President Tinubu full support, arguing that one term is insufficient to correct the “deep decay” inherited from previous administrations.

He added that President Tinubu’s bold decisions—particularly the removal of fuel subsidy and economic reforms—are steps toward long-term prosperity.

The coalition also reaffirmed overwhelming support for Minister Momoh, praising his competence and continuity in office following the president’s cabinet reshuffle. They urged Nigerians across all geopolitical zones to support the ministry’s work and contribute to national development.

The group concluded by calling on all citizens to unite behind the president’s vision and allow him to complete ongoing reforms for the benefit of future generations.

“Long live the Niger Delta region, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement ended.
