The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has publicly refuted circulating rumors about the return of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), emphasizing that the squad remains dissolved. This clarification came in a statement released on Monday morning, titled “DISCLAIMER: SARS REMAINS DISSOLVED – FPRO,” signed by Force PRO ACP Muyiwa Adejobi.

ACP Adejobi described the rumors as misinformation, urging Nigerians to disregard claims suggesting the reformation of the notorious unit. He reiterated that SARS, which was disbanded on October 11, 2020, continues to be dissolved and is not operational.

The Police spokesperson also stressed the importance of verifying information sources before accepting them as true. To stay informed and avoid misinformation, Adejobi encouraged citizens to follow the official social media accounts of the Nigeria Police Force on platforms like X (@PoliceNG), Facebook (@ngpolice), and Instagram (@nigeriapoliceforce), ensuring they receive accurate and reliable updates.
