The election of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the next President of Nigeria will result in a massive shift, according to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

He also expressed confidence that Tinubu’s presidency in 2023 will see the country advance “from what has so far been achieved throughout the country in the last seven and a half years.”

Buhari made the remarks when visiting the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Office in Gusau, and expressed confidence in the APC’s victory in Zamfara in the next 2023 general elections, as represented by Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Prof. Isa Ali Pantami.

According to a statement signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau, the APC Publicity Secretary in Zamfara State, the President also seized the occasion of the visit to attend the closing ceremony of this year’s Musabaka Qur’anic recitation competition conducted in the state.

Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara State, escorted him around.

“He applauded the coordinator’s arrangement, adding that the effort jointly put in place by Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa accounted for the rousing reception his group experienced while in the state,” the release added.

“He told residents of the state that with APC’s Tinubu as the next President, the nation will witness enormous transformation, moving ahead from what has so far been achieved throughout the country in the last seven plus years.

“The President thanked the people of Zamfara and all Nigerians for their support in his leadership and asked Nigerians to continue supporting the APC by securing its victory at all levels in the next elections.”

Earlier, Governor Bello Matawalle assured the President and his delegation that “Zamfara is the home ground of the APC, where opposition parties appear non-existent.”

The governor, who is also the APC’s North West Zonal Coordinator, stated that the selection of an experienced state campaign coordinator such as Senator Marafa has boosted and eased his obligations as the zone’s coordinator in the state.
