This week, Steve Babaeko, the founder and CEO of X3M Ideas, attended the UN Stereotype Alliance Global Member Summit in New York, along with other prominent businesspeople from around the world.

The summit brought together business leaders from over 230 organizations from the US, UK, Japan, and Europe, as well as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates to talk about the role of the advertising, media, and marketing community as a catalyst for transformational change.

The two-day signature event’s theme was “Raising the Bar,” and Steve Babaeko spoke alongside sixteen other speakers, including award-winning playwright and actress Danai Gurira, UN Women’s deputy executive director Anita Bhatia, co-founder and chairman of Getty Images Mark Getty, and activist and model Munroe Bergdorf.

“It is humbling to be a part of the Unstereotype Alliance Global Member Summit at the UN Headquarters with some of the most dedicated changemakers in the world. As we continue to guide the global marketing communications industry in the correct direction, this effort is extremely vital.

Communication is essential for bringing about societal change. One of the reasons I gladly support the UN Stereotype Alliance in its campaign to combat derogatory stereotypes of women in media and communications in general is because of this, stated Steve.

The 16 speakers, who are prominent figures in a variety of fields such as entertainment, advertising, business, and government, emphasized the importance of addressing systematic stereotyping.
