President Bola Tinubu has been informed by Right Reverend Matthew Kukah, the founder of the Kukah Center and the bishop of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese, that certain government policies are causing suffering and misery for Nigerians.
Although he acknowledged that it may not be enough time to evaluate Tinubu’s administration, he pointed out that it is clear that Nigerians are going through a trying time.
Shortly after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Wednesday, May 15, Bishop Kukah made this statement in an interview with State House Correspondents.
He said, “I’m sure a lot of people will tell you that a year is not long enough to form an opinion. But from our current vantage point, it is clear that we are all facing extremely challenging circumstances. Nigerians experience varying degrees of pain, much of which is unintentional.
However, they are the outcome of specific policy choices that, ideally, can be changed over time to better serve the interests of common people.
