In order to ascertain the degree of Naira scarcity across the federation, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has conducted a national survey.

In the poll that the apex bank posted on its X (formerly Twitter) account, Nigerians are asked if they can find Naira notes where they live.

The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as well as the 36 states that make up the union were included in the online Google survey form, which included six questions to support the CBN’s conclusions.

Inquiring about the availability of naira in their area, the Nigerian government’s top bank requested its citizens to “Kindly fill out this Survey to help us serve you better.”

View the full set of survey questions below:

1 – Are you experiencing cash shortage in your location?

2 – In which specific location are you experiencing cash shortage?” the apex bank listed states of the federation for response.

3 – Which financial institution have you recently withdrawn money from?

4 – Was it an Over-the-Counter or ATM withdrawal? Over-the-Counter? ATM withdrawal

5 – What was the over-the-counter withdrawal limit at this financial institution?

6 – What was the ATM withdrawal limit at this financial institution?

The CBN survey question comes at a time when Nigerians are facing a new cash shortage due to the closure of many ATMs and limits placed on the amount of cash that customers can withdraw over the counter by commercial banks.

Since then, the poll question from the apex bank has sparked a flurry of responses on social media.
