Nigerians have dominated the 2024 list of Africa’s Most Talked About People, as unveiled by Top Charts Africa. Out of the top 30, Nigerians claimed 18 spots, cementing their influence across various fields.

Leading the list is Nigerian afrobeats sensation Wizkid, whose ongoing feud with Davido and the release of his new album, Morayo, kept him in the spotlight all year. Kenyan President William Ruto took the second spot, following global attention over the nationwide protests against tax hikes in Kenya earlier this year. His rejection of the controversial bill and subsequent approval of the “Appropriations Bill 2024” further boosted his prominence.

Afrobeats superstar Davido claimed the third position, with his publicized June wedding to Chioma, dubbed “Chivido 2024,” marking a high point in his trending year.

Other notable Nigerians in the top 10 include President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (4th), business magnate Aliko Dangote (5th), politician Peter Obi (9th), and crossdresser Bobrisky (7th). South African singer Tyla and controversial Equatoguinean figure Baltasar Engonga also featured on the list.
