The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced the next step in its refinery rehabilitation plan, focusing on selecting technical partners and finalizing key agreements to restore and upgrade the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, Bayo Ojulari, revealed this on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, expressing renewed optimism about the company’s commitment to reviving Nigeria’s major refining facilities.

Ojulari said the refineries, which have remained shut since May 2025 for extensive technical reviews, would soon move into a critical stage aimed at restoring full operations.

“We are filled with determination! We are looking ahead with optimism to ensure our refineries operate effectively. We are dedicating significant time to a detailed review and are eager to implement our insights,” Ojulari wrote.

He emphasized that NNPCL’s commitment stems from a strong belief that Nigeria’s prosperity must take precedence over personal interests, adding that the company is working to deliver sustainable solutions to reposition the refineries for long-term productivity.

Ojulari assured Nigerians that the corporation is taking deliberate steps to ensure the refineries become functional and efficient, underscoring the company’s broader goal of achieving energy security and economic stability for the country.
