Nollywood Mourns Actress Temitope Osoba

The Nollywood industry is mourning the death of popular actress Temitope Osoba, whose passing was announced by fellow actor Alesh Sanni in an emotional post on Instagram. The news has shocked fans and colleagues, especially after the actress courageously returned to acting following her battle with breast cancer. The Temitope Osoba story has inspired many across Nigeria.

Sharing his grief, Alesh Sanni revealed that he had been unable to sleep since learning of her death. He remembered the late actress as a dear sister and reflected on the memorable moments they shared together.

He wrote, “Couldn’t sleep since last night, it’s well. Rest in peace my dearest sister, Temitope Osoba. We had amazing time and good memories together, till we meet again. I really dunno what to say mehn, gosh.”

About a year before her passing, Temitope Osoba made an emotional return to the screen after recovering from breast cancer. In a video shared on Instagram in August 2025, she thanked her fans, colleagues, and supporters for standing by her through prayers and encouragement during her health journey.

She described the experience as life-changing, explaining that it inspired her to rebuild both her personal life and acting career. She said, “Dear beloved fans, supporters, and loved ones, I’m Temitope Osoba, and after my cancer experience, I’m excited to announce my reintroduction. This journey has been a turning point, leading to my rebranding, reshaping, and rebuilding. I’m emerging stronger, more resilient, and more passionate about sharing my story and inspiring others.”

The actress also revealed that she discovered a lump during a self-examination in late 2024. Although initial medical checks suggested hormonal changes, further tests confirmed it was cancer. She underwent surgery in November 2024 to remove the tumour and was later advised to have a second operation to eliminate the remaining cancer cells.
