Bolaji Amusan, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, confirmed Sanyaolu’s death. On his Instagram page, Amusan paid tribute, writing, “Sleep well, Uncle Shina Sanyaolu.”
Veteran actor Jide Kosoko also shared heartfelt reflections on Sanyaolu’s impact. Kosoko described him as more than just a remarkable man; he was a beacon of kindness and warmth to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Kosoko’s tribute read: “Shina Sanyaolu wasn’t just a remarkable individual; he embodied kindness and warmth. His love for the arts and his steadfast support for our industry were unparalleled. Shina was always there for us, offering a helping hand and opening doors where there seemed to be none. For those of us who journeyed to the UK in the 80s, he made it feel like home—welcoming us with open arms, providing accommodation, and even taking time out of his busy life to drive us around.
“Shina’s generosity was boundless, and his spirit touched countless lives. Though the world feels emptier without him, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy endures in the hearts of those he has touched.”
Sanyaolu’s significant contributions to the film industry include producing notable works such as ‘The Honourable,’ ‘Two Wives,’ and ‘Omo Olosan.’
