Lagos – Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has voiced her frustration over the constant barrage of insults from social media trolls. The actress, known for her outspokenness, expressed her dismay over the derogatory terms some individuals use when they disagree with her online.
In a post shared on her X handle this Thursday, the film star revealed how draining it is to face such attacks. Henshaw described the name-calling – such as “olosho” and “prostitute” – as tiresome and beneath the level of intelligent conversation. She called on these trolls to elevate their responses and avoid resorting to such juvenile insults.
“Name-calling like olosho, prostitute & the like is just so tiring to hear,” Henshaw wrote. “Can’t you come up with more intelligent responses?” She went on to criticize the trolls, accusing them of intentionally engaging in dull behavior. “Oh well, sense was in abundance, but that’s when you decided to walk away so that you would be bereft of brains. Dullards.”
The actress’ comments have sparked widespread reactions, with many fans supporting her call for a more thoughtful and respectful discourse on social media. Her words also highlight a broader issue of cyberbullying that affects public figures in Nigeria.
