- Babaro, linked to deadly attacks, seen at Faskari peace meeting
- Deal includes forgiveness, safe farming, and hostage release
- Top bandit leaders Ado Aleru and Kwashen-garwa also attended
A photo has surfaced showing Babaro, a notorious bandit leader, taking part in a peace dialogue on Sunday in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the image on X, identified Babaro as a key figure behind multiple attacks in Kankara and Malumfashi. He is alleged to have orchestrated the recent massacre in Mantau, Malumfashi LGA, where 32 worshippers were killed and several others injured during evening prayers.
Confirming the development, another security analyst, Bakatsine, said residents of Faskari and bandits had struck a peace deal. The agreement reportedly covers mutual forgiveness, unarmed entry of bandits into communities, freedom for farming and grazing, and the release of hostages without ransom.
Bakatsine added that prominent bandit leaders, including Ado Aleru, Babaro, and Kwashen-garwa, were present at the meeting.
