Nigeria trade surplus reaches N12.60 trillion in Q2 2026

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 15 ships carrying petroleum products, food supplies and other goods are expected to arrive at the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports in Lagos between Friday and Wednesday.

The authority disclosed this in its Daily Shipping Position report released on Friday.

Seven of the incoming vessels will carry containers containing various goods. The remaining eight will transport bulk wheat, bulk salt, general cargo, trucks, diesel base oil and aviation fuel.

Meanwhile, the NPA reported that five vessels had arrived at the ports and were waiting to berth. Their cargoes include containers, transformers, petrol and general merchandise.

The report also showed that 16 ships were discharging cargo at the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports when the authority released the update. The goods being unloaded include bulk wheat, base oil, bulk fertiliser, trucks, general cargo, fresh fish, containers, bulk sugar, steel and petrol.

The expected arrivals and ongoing cargo operations highlight the range of goods moving through Lagos, Nigeria’s main maritime trade hub.

The NPA publishes shipping updates to provide information on vessel arrivals, berthing and cargo operations at the country’s ports.

Further details about the expected vessels, including their individual arrival times, were not provided in the report.
