Tunji Wusu –

In order to perform a nationwide population and housing census in the nation without incident, the National Population Commission, or NPC, appealed to President Bola Tinubu for an additional N225.2 billion on Thursday.

Nasir Isa Kwarra, the NPC Chairman, made the plea while updating the President on the Commission’s work at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In order to pay for training and fieldwork allowances, retraining of trainers, and the execution of a second-class Trial Census, he requested the President’s assent for an additional N225.2 billion.

According to a statement from Mr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, President Tinubu noted that the population of urban centers across the nation has continued to rise as a result of the extreme poverty and unemployment in rural areas while hosting the NPC team.
