Alhaji Abubakar Lawal Daura, Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 10, Headquarters, Sokoto, has decorated twenty-three (23) newly promoted inspectors recently upgraded to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

AIG Daura thanked the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Adeola Egbetokun, for his welfare initiative, which resulted in the promotion of 23 Police Inspectors to the grade of ASP within the Zonal headquarters.

Daura added that the newly promoted police officials, who were previously inspectors, cut across units within the Zonal headquarters.

Daura, on the other hand, commended the newly promoted officers and asked them to be more responsible as they carry out the Acting Inspector General of Police’s police goal and vision.

He tasked them with being more proactive and vigilant in their policing duties, noting that “to whom much is given, much is expected.”

” It’s my hope and expectation that the promotion will add value to your life and the lives of your families back home, while also urging them to brace up for the task ahead, especially given the current challenge facing the states under Zonal command.”

“I will not tolerate laxity, misconduct, or unruly behavior against any officer,” he said. “You will also be judged based on your actions that are inconsistent with the Nigerian police force’s code of ethics.” Daura stated.

The management team and family members of the newly decorated officers were present at the Zonal headquarters to witness the decorating.
