Brig-Gen Ibrahim Shuaibu, Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Tuesday, visited nine corps members serving in Katsina State who are receiving treatment in hospitals from injuries sustained from a ghastly motor accident.
PREMIER NEWS had reports that 12 corps members were traveling in a bus to Funtua for a Church programme on Sunday when the accident happened.
Three of them died on the spot, while the remaining nine sustained injuries.
Gov. Aminu Masari, who was also on his way to Danja, witnessed the accident shortly after it happened.
Masari stopped over and directed a vehicle in his convoy to immediately transport the injured ones to the hospital for treatment, and deposit the corpses in the morgue.
On Tuesday, the DG, in company of the state coordinator, Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya, visited the injured corps members at the Federal Medical Center, Katsina, Katsina General Hospital and Amadi Rimi Specialist/Orthopaedic Hospital, Katsina.
After the visit, Shuaibu, expressed delight that the victims were now responding to treatment.
While praying for their quick recovery, the DG also prayed God to grant the dead ones eternal rest, and give their families, the fortitude to bear the loss.
He thanked the state governor for his magnanimity and kindness to the victims during the accident.
PREMIER NEWS reports that two corps members have been discharged from hospital while one is an outpatient.
