Tunji Wusu –

According to a former minister, President Bola Tinubu’s economic rebirth will make Nigeria a major player in the community of nations within a few months.

This was said by Musiliu Obanikoro in an interview following a Saturday visit to Tinubu in Lagos.

He asserted that a country can only achieve its internal plans and programs and earn the respect and recognition that the international community accords it.

However, he warned Nigerians not to look for an immediate solution to the many problems and difficulties brought on by the country’s ongoing attempts to revive itself, emphasizing that good things do not come easily.

“Many people were skeptical when President Tinubu took office as Lagos’ governor in 1999 and started the state’s economic restructuring. After about six months, we had all of Lagos with us. The country will soon witness the same situation.

“Your strength at home actually gives you strength outside. You do better outside if you are stronger at home. If you are weak at home, no one will respect you.

“Some of the actions Asiwaju has made over the past month have demonstrated that he is prepared to compete on the world stage, and this has received positive feedback from important players.

As a former commissioner who served under him, I can speak from personal experience on his administrative skills. He has a better side that is always the auditor. He said, “That aspect of him brings out what is wonderful in him.

Former Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture Mr. Obanikoro served as Minister of State for Defense in the Federal Executive Council before being named High Commissioner to Ghana.

We are currently discussing a financial shortage, and he has devised a solution. While we’re asking where he’s going to get the money, just wait and you’ll see how stable our currency is in a few months, he insisted.
