The controversy began when an X user, identified as @Ghost91on, shared a photograph of Broda Shaggy and alleged that Officer Woos had announced the comedian’s death on Instagram. The claim quickly spread online and triggered widespread reactions.

However, Officer Woos moved swiftly to reject the report. He shared a screenshot of the viral post on his Instagram Story and described the claim as “false.”

Furthermore, his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, issued a statement strongly denying the allegation. The law firm said anonymous social media accounts had circulated fabricated reports suggesting their client publicly announced the death of a colleague.

According to the statement, Officer Woos has never announced the death of any friend, associate, or colleague on any of his social media platforms. The lawyers described the publication as misleading and a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation.

In addition, the legal team warned that those responsible for creating and distributing the false report could face legal action.

The latest rumour emerged months after Broda Shaggy was reportedly shot while filming near Sango Ota Bridge in Ogun State in March 2026. Since that incident, the comedian has largely stayed away from public discussions regarding the matter.

Nevertheless, there has been no official confirmation of any death involving Broda Shaggy. As a result, Officer Woos denies announcing Broda Shaggy death and insists the viral claims are entirely untrue.
