Abiodun Alamutu, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, has vowed to crack down on landgrabbers who are out to destroy the state’s calm.

Alamutu stated that this is important in order to offer a safe environment for investors and their enterprises to prosper in the state.

The CP stated this during a courtesy visit to the state Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta by the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Babatunde Adeyemo.

He described the operations of landgrabbers, who continually irritate company owners, particularly real estate agents, as “nightmarish,” adding that the command is working to address it.

“You know, in your trade, some people are out to frustrate others because they know you won’t have time to pursue court cases, and that is their own stock in trade,” Alamutu added. They seek to drive individuals out of business, which is why the problem of land grabbing is at the top of our agenda.”

Adeyemo, who sought the command’s commitment to building a secure environment for companies, vowed to provide a police post for the command surrounding the state’s Masa-Kobape corridor, adding that crime will be reduced if effective preventive measures are implemented.

Adeyemo had previously stated, “We are willing to complement your effort by using this medium to seek your guidance on the process of donating a police post close to one of our estates in the Masa community.”

Among those accompanying Adeyemo during his visit were Bobawoga of Orile Itesi in Egbaland, Chief Olawale Olaleye, Pelican’s Director of Operations, Ife Daniel, and Company Secretary, Aminat Adisa Kudaisi.
