Babatunji Wusu –
Wale Adedayo, the suspended chairman of Ogun State’s Ijebu East Local Government Area, was held by the Department of State Security (DSS), Ogun State command, on Friday due to allegations of council allocations being diverted against Governor Dapo Abiodun.
In the previous two years, Adedayo claimed that the governor had withheld money intended for the local government.
In response to the service’s invitation, Adedayo attended the DSS office in Abeokuta on Friday.
He had also visited the DSS office on Thursday to discuss the same issue, but on Friday, he was taken into custody.
On Friday evening, one of his assistants informed Daily Trust that Adedayo would probably spend the weekend in detention.
“We arrived together, and I took his phone and stood outside; ever since, he hasn’t been allowed to leave,” he claimed.
The governor also entered the DSS office after he did and left after more than 30 minutes. Only God knows what is taking place with my boss right now; kindly assist us. He has still not been permitted to go as of 8:34 p.m.
