In the Ifo area of the state, men from the Ogun State Police Command detained 116 suspected members of the “Aye” cult over the weekend.

The command’s Anti-Cultism Squad detained the cultists—70 men and 46 women who are Aye Confraternity members—at a hotel on Ibogun Road.

The police had a security report on the local CLTists’ activities, including the fact that they would be holding their initiation and anniversary rituals, the command claimed in a statement.

The Anti-Cultism Squad was dispatched to the area in response to the report, which resulted in the arrest of the offenders. Four axes, seven cutlasses, banners, anniversary invitation cards, illegal drugs, and marijuana were among the items seized from them.
