In a joint initiative with the Global Fund Malaria Project, Society for Family Health, and other development partners, the Ogun State government is deploying 1,180 town announcers across all 236 wards within the state’s 20 local governments. This effort aims to spread awareness about the distribution of 3.1 million insecticide-treated nets in November, targeting malaria prevention.

Each ward is equipped with five announcers, dedicated to educating residents on the benefits of the 2024 Insecticide-Treated Nets Mass Campaign and ensuring community involvement in reducing malaria cases.

Following an orientation for the Ijebu East Local Government, ITN Coordinator Abiodun Rafiu expressed confidence in the announcers’ preparedness to effectively communicate the program’s objectives. Meanwhile, ITN Coordinator for Ijebu North, Oladeji Julius, confirmed that the 55 announcers across the area’s 11 wards have been well-briefed and are ready to drive the campaign’s success.
